JAPAN - 66TH ANNIVERSARY OF ATOMIC
COMMEMORATED BY YOUNG NAGASAKI PEACE MESSENGERS
World YWCA - 24/08/2011 -“We are the last generation who can hear the survivors’ voices directly. We didn’t experience the horror of those days but by opening our hearts to the voice of the survivors we can carry on their message and pass it on to the next generation.” These are the words of Hikari Zaitsu one of the 16 young Japanese high school students who made up the group of Nagasaki Peace Messengers who travelled from Japan to Geneva and visited the World YWCA on August19.
